Stainless Steel Peat Sampler has a massive cone which seals the sampling containing section off by a fin that pivots around the axle in the middle of the sampler and is fitted with a cutting edge on one side. A half turn at desired sampling depth means the fin remains in position allowing the half cylinder to be filled and reclosed. Only suitable for use in flabby and very soft soils.
